Brilliant Batik

Saturday, August 8 @ 1:00pm
Lea Cioci (Ranger educator and published artist) is back with Batik!!
In the tradition of Batik on fabrics, students will experiment with their own hand-dyed batiked paper using stamps as tools for the resist, and also wax on the last step of the dye process to accent with small striations like real batik fabric. The focus of this class color and form working in harmony.

Students need to bring a juicy, white pigment inkpad and plastic gloves if you don’t want to get your hands dirty. Sloppy clothes are also suggested as we are working with dye based sprays. Optional: Solid stamp images that are wood mounted.
Cost: $35
