Join Mary Beth Shaw and gain a host of new skills that you can apply to all of your mixed media creations. Using the unusually forgiving substrate of claybord, you will work on two abstract mixed media pieces that will be used as the covers of a simple hard-bound journal that you can fill with whatever you desire. Suitable for any level painter, abstraction becomes approachable when explored through a guided process of layering. In this intriguing class you will experiment with multiple media such as alcohol ink, soft and oil pastels, acrylic paint and collage materials. You will have the opportunity to carve interesting texture into the claybord pieces and will learn tricks such as erasing, distressing and carving back into previously completed layers. Don't miss the chance to increase your skill set in an innovative new way.
Cost: $50
